The Family Resource Fund, initially called the “Crib Fund,” was started by coworkers in the early 80’s to help families and their little ones with complex needs transition from the hospital to home when no other funding was available. Today, the Family Resource Fund assists children and adults with complex health needs and disabilities to live independently in the community of their choice. Since 2019 The Coordinating Center’s Family Resource Fund Committee, led by coworkers, passionate about the wellbeing of the people The Center serves, has fulfilled more than 500 requests, over $140,000 allocated.
Your contribution truly makes a difference! One hundred percent of the dollars raised support individuals served by The Coordinating Center. When a client is in need of financial assistance, our highly skilled coordinators seek low to no cost resources to meet the need. The Coordinating Center’s Family Resource Fund is used only as a last resort when no other support is available. With 9,200 clients served year-round, it is critical that we grow this fund.
Help us grow the fund so we can continue to provide vital services and supports, including but not limited to:
- Adaptive/medical equipment
- Dental/vision care
- Pharmacy/medical supplies
- Assistive technology
- Respite
- Summer camp
- Rapid rehousing and critical housing services.
Other ways The Coordinating Center's Family Resource Fund is supporting clients moving out of nursing facilities into homes back into the community of their choice. Individuals receive a Welcome Home Basket with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, silverware, sheets/pillow, towels, and other necessary items for independent living. During COVID-19, The Coordinating Center supported children with special health care needs and disabilities by providing Comfort and Engagement Grants, such as toys, games, and sensory items to bring children comfort and joy during a period of isolation.
